There are several fatal ways to read the Bible. One is to think that it applies to everybody else but ourselves. Another is when people go around saying "the Lord put this verse on my heart for you," when often what they really mean is they looked in the references at the back to find a verse on a subject they thought they needed. Then there is the 'open the Bible at random and put your finger on a verse of the day', and take it completely out of the context.
