Most people have read on a Christmas card the verse: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6) But have you ever stopped to consider what it means? This child born in a manger in Bethlehem is the “The mighty God” Himself. Jesus is “everlasting Father” of time; Jesus created time and the world (Col 1:16). He is “everlasting” and has always existed. Jesus is the “ The Prince of Peace.” The only way that you will have true and lasting peace in your heart is to live for “The Prince of Peace” who desires you to know Him. Yet most people use the Holy Name of Jesus to curse with or say “Oh my G-D”. If a friend started to use your name to curse with what would it say about what they think of you? Jesus said “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.” (Mat.12:34-36) “for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain” (Ex:20:7) BUT THERE IS STILL HOPE. The reason the “mighty God” entered into His own creation and became a baby, was because even though we rebelled against God “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way” (Isa 55:6) For God so loved YOU that He “made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in the appearance as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Phil 2:7-8) The reason Jesus went to the cross was “he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isa 55:5) Jesus willingly paid the penalty in full for ALL your sin. “Christ died for our sins... he was buried, and he rose again the third day... he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once” (1 Cor 15:3-6)
JESUS OFFERS YOU PEACE OF YOUR SOUL & THE FREE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE. He says to YOU: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS” (Matt 11:28-29) “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14) What are you waiting for? Don't waste your life! You can have "peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 5:1)
