Mark Driscoll and the Sex-Driven Church

Scott over at Covenant Theology Blog has written an excellent piece revealing the errors of Mark Driscoll. Read the full article HERE: Mark Driscoll and the Sex-Driven Church.

Here are a few quotes:
"What a shame it is that such a beautiful passage [Song of Solomon] has been twisted and mangled by carnal ministers like Driscoll to become nothing more than a sex therapy manual, as if the main purpose of the book was to teach how to get physical pleasure from your spouse in bed. Not satisfied with the language already existent in the Song of Solomon, Driscoll takes lewd liberties with passages to turn them into soft porn, such as having “apples” refer to male private parts and “gardens” to be female parts (and he doesn't call them "parts")."

"Driscoll tells us that all good commentators will agree that Song of Solomon 2:3 refers to o**l sex. What commentators? Gill? Calvin? Henry? No. Barnes, Clarke, Wesley? Not a word. The church Fathers? The Geneva Bible Notes? Scofield? What commentaries? He never tells us, and I doubt that anyone in his captive audience ever asked... there is no hint of o**l sex in this passage."

"In short, Mark Driscoll doesn’t even sound like a pastor, but more like a junior high school pervert writing on the bathroom walls. My advice to anyone who hears a pastor over-sexualize Scripture in this manner? Run. "

Take Courage In Toil -Charles Spurgeon

"Courage, brother, courage, sister; there is rest for the weary; there is eternal rest for the beloved of the Lord, and when thou shalt arrive in heaven, how little, how utterly insignificant thy toil will seem, even if it shall have lasted threescore years and ten. You are pained much; even now pain shoots through your body; you do not often know what it is to have an easy hour, and you half murmur, “Why am I thus? Why did God deal so hardly with me?” Think of heaven, where the inhabitants shall no more say, “I am sick;” where there are no groans to mingle with the songs that warble from immortal tongues. Courage, tried one, Oh it will soon be over; it is but a pin’s prick or a moment’s pang, and then eternal glory. Be of good cheer, and let not thy patience fail thee. And so thou hast been slandered. On thy face, for Christ’s dear name, shame and reproach have been cast, and thou art ready to give up. Come, man, look before thee! Canst thou not hear the acclamations of the angels as the conquerors receive one by one their eternal crowns?

What! wilt thou not fight when there is so much to be won? Must thou be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease? Thou must fight if thou wouldst reign. Gird up the loins of thy mind and have respect to the recompense of reward. In the light of heaven, the shame of earth will seem to be less than nothing and vanity." ~C.H. Spurgeon

Evangelism pt1-Salvation Is Of The Lord-We Are Not Sales Men, Marketers, Or Public Relations Officers-Kevin Williams

Here we start a new series on evangelism and how to share your faith Biblically. In part 1 we look at:
-How many of the popular methods of evangelism today, have their routes outside of Scripture and cause much more harm than good.
-The error of modern evangelism and the damage it does.
-The error of decisionism. (The false belief that evangelism and conversion is getting people to make decisions for Jesus)
-How the alpha course, the purpose driven life, and the prosperity Gospel lead to false converts.
-What true conversion is and how does it happen.
-The importance of being God centred in our evangelism and not man-centred.

The Two Of You Can Do All Things-Martyn Lloyd Jones

"The Christian life is not a life that I live myself and by my own power; neither is it a life in which I am obliterated and Christ does all. No, "I can do all things through Christ". I wonder if I can best put this by telling you of how an old preacher, famous in the last century, once put it when preaching on this very text. Those old preachers used sometimes to preach in a dramatic way. They would have a kind of dialogue with the Apostle in the pulpit. So this old preacher began to preach on this text on this way: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". "Wait a minute, Paul, what did I hear you say?" "I can do all things." "Paul, surely that is boasting, surely you were just claiming for yourself that you are a superman?" "No, no, I can do all things." Well, the old preacher kept up the dialogue. He questioned Paul and quoted every statement made by Paul in which he says he is the least of all Saints, etc. "You are generally so humble, Paul, but now you say "I can do all things", haven't you started boasting?" and then at last Paul says: "I can do all things through Christ". "Oh, I am sorry" said the old preacher "I beg your pardon, Paul, I did not realize there were two of you." Now I think that puts it perfectly. "I can do all things through Christ." "There are two of you." Not I only, not Christ only, I and Christ, Christ and I, two of us."~Martyn Lloyd Jones.

The Violent Take It By Force- Charles Spurgeon

"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." Matthew 11:12

"Do you think you are going to be carried to heaven on a feather bed? Have you got a notion in your heads that the road to paradise is all a lawn, the grass smoothly mown, still waters and green pastures ever and anon to cheer you? You have just got to clear your heads of that deceitful fancy. The way to heaven is up hill and down hill; up hill with difficulty, down hill with trials. It is through fire and through water, through flood and through flame, by the lions and by the leopards. Through the very mouths of dragons is the path to paradise. But the man who finds it so, and who desperately resolves in the strength of God to tread that path—nay, who does not resolve as if he could do nothing else but resolve, but who feels driven, as if with a hurricane behind him, to go into the right road, this man is never unsuccessful, never. Where God has given a violent anxiety for salvation he never disappoints it. No soul that has ever cried for it with a violent cry has been disappointed. From the beginning of creation until now there has never been raised to the throne of God a violent and earnest prayer which missed its answer. Go, soul, in the strong confidence that if thou goest earnestly thou goest successfully. God may sooner deny himself than deny the request of an earnest man. Our God may sooner cease to be "the Lord God, gracious and merciful," than cease to bless the men who seek the gates of heaven, with the violence of faith and prayer."~Charles Spurgeon

A Relationship of Gratitude To God Is The Difference Between Saved & Lost -Lloyd Jones

"Are we conscious of thanksgiving? What is a Christian? Well, obviously, a Christian must be a person who is conscious of a relationship to God. You cannot read the New Testament without at once coming to that conclusion. Indeed,... this stands out plainly in the Old Testament also. According to the Bible, there are only two divisions of men and women: we are all of us either godly or ungodly. It is either true of us at this moment that the biggest thing in our lives is our relationship to God, or else it is not.
If you go through the Bible you will find that this is always the way. What is the difference between Cain and Abel? What is the difference between Noah and his family and all the rest of the world? What is it that marks out Abraham? What is the thing that picked him out of the Pagan atmosphere in which he was brought up?It was this relationship to God. He was a God-centred man, a man who relied upon God and depended upon him and who had a sense of dependence on and of gratitude to God."~Martyn Lloyd Jones

Christ Did Not Die Just To Give You Doctrine, But Himself.-Mike Morrow

"We have been recently in a revival of intellectualism. We have a new surge of interest in doctrine and in truth, we really want to know the truth and we really want to know doctrine, and we're interested in making sure that all of our 'I's are dotted and our 'T's are crossed. Making sure that everything we believe is exactly in line with what somebody else, who's supposed to know, believes. We've got it all figured out. Well I tell you, I almost got to the place one time where I despised the word 'Calvinism'... I tell you something, Hell is going to be full of Calvinists. There are a lot of people who have gotten all excited about doctrine and somehow they feel like they've seen something and they know something that other people don't know and it gives them this puffed up feeling, this exalted feeling, this sense of I know something about God and I have this insight into the truths of God. I wanna tell you something, the Word of God teaches that Christ did not die to give you great insights and truths of the nature of God or just to give you doctrine. Jesus Christ died to bring us to God Himself.

I was with brother Paul, I went to hear brother Washer preach on one occasion over in Bowling Green, Kentucky... I was talking to brother Paul and as it always happens, he was crowded, crowded around with young men, young preachers... and one of them asked him a question, and brother Paul kind of smiled and deferred to me, he said "this is an older Pastor.. ask this man", so the boy asked me the question. But I just felt the need when I finnished saying what little bit I said to ask him, I said "tell me when you were saved, tell me about your salvation." This is what he said, 'Well I was raised in so-and so church of Christ and I was baptised at such-a-place, now let's get back to [my question]' and I said "Woe, woe, woe, woe, wait-a-minute, tell me when you were saved." Well he kind of stepped back and looked offended. He said 'I've just told you I was raised in this certain church of Christ and I was baptised at a certain age now brother Paul, about this doctrinal problem"
And I'm going to tell you something, there are multitudes of young men and women today who are being taught and think somehow in their mind, that [they're saved] if they have an intellectual grasp of the Gospel, if they have an intellectual grasp of the five points of Calvinism, but I'm here to tell you that just because you have an intellectual understanding of the Gospel, doesn't mean [you know God]".~Dr. Michael Morrow.

Religion Without Gratitude To God Is A Self-Admiration Society-Martyn Lloyd Jones

"But, above all, I want to emphasise that this element of praise is the absolute essential in Christianity. Christians are men and women who, before everything else, are conscious that they owe everything to the grace of God. The apostle Paul has put it finally for us in these words: 'But by the grace of God I am what I am.' (1 Cor 15:10). He owes it all to God. And that is why he praises God.
O, let us examine ourselves! This is the one thing in life and in the world that we cannot afford to take for granted. It is impossible for you and for me to have a religion in which we feel no sense of gratitude to God. My religion may be something that I, as it were, carry with me in a bag; it may be something which is nothing more than a kind of self-admiration society. I am glad that I do pay my respects to God and I think I am a good man or woman because I do it. I am really worshipping myself for being good, and not worshipping God.
Never let us confuse church membership with true Christianity. You can be a church member without being a Christian, and if your Christianity is merely a matter of membership of a church, or even your work in the church, if it lacks this sense of gratitude to God, if it is what you are doing and what you are, rather than your praise to him, then it is not true New Testament Christianity."~Martin Lloyd Jones

The Reason Revelation Was Written -Martyn Lloyd Jones

"And why was the book of Revelation ever written? It was not written primarily, let me assure you, in order that people might be able to work out the date of the end of the world! That is a very grievous misunderstanding of that book. The book of Revelation was written in order that God's people who were passing through terrible persecutions and terrible adversary might still be able to go on rejoicing. It is a book that showed them the ultimate victory of the Lord over Satan and all the other forces. They were to rejoice. It was written for men and women who had been in trouble, and it was meant to help them, not some people who were to live about two thousand years later. And so it has been a help to Christian people in every age and in every generation, and if your understanding of the Book of Revelation does not help you rejoice, you are misunderstanding it."~Martyn Lloyd ~Jones

Spurgeon-Make Sure You Do Not Lead OTHERS Into Temptation

"If you pray God not to lead you into temptation, do not lead others there. Some seem to be singularly forgetful of the effect of their example, for they will do evil things in the presence of their children and those who look up to them. Now I pray you consider that by ill example you destroy others as well as yourself. Do nothing, my dear Brothers and Sisters, of which you have need to be ashamed, or which you would not wish others to imitate. Do the right thing at all times and do not let Satan make a “cat’s paw” of you to destroy the souls of others!

Do you pray, “Lead us not into temptation”? Then do not lead your children there. They are invited, during the festive season, to such-and-such a family party where there will be everything but what will benefit their spiritual growth or even their good morals—do not allow them to go. Put your foot down. Be steadfast about it. Having once prayed, “Lead us not into temptation,” be not the hypocrite by allowing your children to go into it."~Charles Spurgeon

Spurgeon-Don't Be A Hypocrite And Willfully Go Where Temptation Is.

"Never go [willingly] into temptation. The man who prays “Lead us not into temptation,” and then goes into it, is a liar before God! What a hypocrite a man must be who utters this prayer and then goes off to the theater! How false is he who offers this prayer and then stands at the bar and drinks and talks with depraved men and bedizened women! “Lead us not into temptation,” is shameful profanity when it comes from the lips of men who resort to places of amusement whose moral tone is bad. “Oh,” you say, “you should not tell us of such things.” Why not? Some of you do them and I am bold to rebuke evil wherever it is found and shall do so while this tongue can move! There is a world of cant about.

People go to Church and say, “Lead us not into temptation,” and then they know where temptation is to be found and they go straight to it! You need not ask the Lord not to lead you there—He has nothing to do with you! The devil and you, between you, will go far enough without mocking God with your hypocritical prayers! The man who goes into sin willfully with his eyes open and then bends his knees and says half-a-dozen times over in his Church on Sunday morning “Lead us not into temptation,” is a hypocrite without a mask! Let him take that home to himself and believe that I mean to be personal with him and to such barefaced hypocrites as he!"

The Catholic Jesus Is Another Jesus - Mack T

Iain Murray encourages all evangelicals to read the 1994 Catholic Catechism. Mr. Murray quotes Pope John Paul, who when in Australia speaking to priests, said, ‘Jesus did not want a church without priests. If priests are lacking, then Jesus is lacking in the world, as is his Eucharist and his forgiveness... We share in the work of Christ, the eternal High Priest.’ Murray says, 'Men and women died rather than assent to such teaching.'

It is always interesting to read and hear such things from catholic leaders, especially the pope, since Jesus Himself said, regarding His work when He was upon the cross, "It is finished!"

Jesus said His work is finished, yet the pope, John Paul, 2000 years later says it is lacking without human priests. Every catholic ought to be honest, thinking long and clear on this one--Jesus and the pope don't agree-- I wonder who is right? There's no wondering.

One of the most grievous things about this in our day is that there are thousands of professing "evangelical" catholics that sincerely believe they are Bible believers and at the same time are devoted to the catholic church and catholic faith. But you cannot be both-- it is either one or the other but not both. Either Jesus Christ and the Bible are right, thus leaving Catholicism wrong and in error, or Catholicism is right and the Bible is not true. You cannot have both, even though nice, sincere people say they believe both.

You can't have a long, short trip; or a clear sunny, cloudy day, or a hot and cold cup of tea, or a tall, short man; neither can you have a biblical catholicism. Simply impossible, because you cannot have a Saviour who said, "It is finished" and then have a Saviour, of whom the pope says, "If priests are lacking in the world, then Jesus is lacking in the world, as is his Eucharist and his forgiveness... We share in the work of Christ, the eternal High Priest." Utter falsehood, pure and simple. Which Jesus is lacking? The catholic Jesus obviously, but not the Jesus of the New Testament. The fact is, the catholic Jesus is lacking but the Jesus revealed in the pages of the Bible is not lacking because they are not the same.
-- Mack T.

Don't Miss Out The Resurrection-Kevin Williams

Two quotes from our Easter Sunday sermon:
"Why in so many Gospel presentations is the resurrection either omitted completely, or it’s just added as a brief tag along at the end. It makes a brief cameo appearance right at the end. It’s as if the preacher is not sure why he must include it, but he knows he’s supposed to, so he just tags it on very quickly at the end...
...Faith without works is dead, what we do reveals what we really believe. The resurrection is missed, only when we don’t deem it important enough to include. If you look at the preaching of the Gospel in the Books of Acts, and in the Epistles, there is a massive emphasis on Christ raised from the dead."

"You cannot escape that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, and it is essential that this truth is proclaimed with the great emphasis that the early Christians in the Book of Acts and the epistles gave it. Because, whilst Christianity stands or falls on the resurrection, once you realize, that the resurrection of Jesus cannot be explained away, then Christianity stands, and everything in opposition to it falls. You see, it makes odds, people debating, if there’s a God why did this happen in my life I’m not happy with, and objecting to things they don’t like in the Bible. Because Christ is risen, Christianity stands, so they will stand before Christ. A Muslim can claim, they don't believe the Bible, they’re following the Koran, they can argue against Jesus and the Bible all they like. [But] Because Christ is resurrected their objections make no difference. An atheist can try to deny the existence of God, but because Jesus is risen from the dead, their objections hold no value. You can’t explain away the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Again you can bury your head in the sand, or hide behind a curtain like a little child, but it doesn't change the reality"

When You Feel Like God Has Forsaken You -Charles Spurgeon

Some of us think at times that we could cry, "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" There are seasons when the brightness of our Father's smile is eclipsed by clouds and darkness; but let us remember that God never does really forsake us. It is only a seeming forsaking with us, but in Christ's case it was a real forsaking. We grieve at a little withdrawal of our Father's love; but the real turning away of God's face from His Son, who shall calculate how deep the agony which it caused Him? In our case, our cry is often dictated by unbelief: in His case, it was the utterance of a dreadful fact, for God had really turned away from Him for a season. O thou poor, distressed soul, who once lived in the sunshine of God's face, but art now in darkness, remember that He has not really forsaken thee. God in the clouds is as much our God as when He shines forth in all the lustre of His grace; but since even the thought that He has forsaken us gives us agony, what must the woe of the Saviour have been when He exclaimed, "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?"~Charles Spurgeon

We Who Preach Christ Must Be Prophets Not Public Relations Officers

"We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. "~A.W. Tozer

This both keeps us humble and encourages perseverance. Often when an itinerant preacher sees a harvest during a meeting we fail to realize he is picking another man's fruit. A faithful pastor planted that seed year's ago; a broken-hearted mother kept it safe through her loud cries and tears. So this verse helps us keep perspective if we might be on the end of that process.

But we are also encouraged to persevere. Each word, sentence, and thought spoken is another log in place. Every prayer offered and tear shed tightens the bundle a little more. And we never know but that the next laborer may bring with him the coveted fire from Heaven.

Sin Will Not Have Dominion Over The Believer-Be Honest-Are You Ready To Meet God?

A wonderful 11 min exhortation.

Christ Our New Covenant Of Love Higher Than The Old Covenant

As Jesus reminded His disciples in the Sermon on the Mount, that for those under the Old Covenant, God commanded "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth", but in the New Covenant, Jesus says "But I say unto you," and then He instructs us that in the New Covenant He commands us to do the exact opposite and more:
"That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.". Matt 5:39-42.

Such is the by far higher standard of the Law of Christ in the New Covenant over the Old Covenant.

Principles For Prayer pt 6-A Forgiving People-Love Is THE Thing In The New Covenant-Kevin Williams

Quote from this sermon:
"We can often pray for things, and not realize what we are asking for. Do you realize what this prayer is that we are asking for in our text? "And forgive us our debts, as [and only as] we forgive our debtors." This prayer is recited as a vain repetition, in most Anglican churches, in schools, in an apathetic manner. But when we pray "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." What we are essentially praying here, is “Lord, if I don’t forgive others, then damn me to Hell for all eternity.” “Lord, if you find any malice or a grudge in my heart towards others,
Then make sure you punish me in Hell for all eternity for it."

Theological Parodox Is Legitimate, Humble & Faithful

It's painful to watch people hack Scripture to death to try and make it fit within their theological system, and use their 'logic' analogy as an authority above Scripture.

One example is when the ultra-high or hyper-Calvinists do doctrinal gymnastics to try and remove all of the many Jesus died for all verses. By which standard even John Calvin wouldn't be a Calvinist. There are many things in Scripture our finite minds cannot fully understand. I think it's better to just let the texts stand and accept them by faith.

Below are two quotes by Richard Ostella from an article at Pressing In.

"Theological paradox is not only legitimate, but it is also helpful in calling us to a most humble use of logic in subordination to Scripture. It does so by giving conscious priority to faithful handling of Scripture above logical consistency. Then we can follow Calvin’s pastoral encouragement to stop inquiry where the Holy Spirit closes His holy lips. At that point, the reasoning self rests, we rest, on Christ the solid Rock; and there we bow in worship and praise."~Richard Ostella

"We must come to terms with apparent contradictions, beliefs that seem inconsistent. Importantly, we know that there is no inconsistency between them because God has revealed them. Paradoxicality should be no surprise. After all, we are creatures and He is the Creator. We have limited knowledge; we cannot penetrate all the interconnections that exist within the truth that God knows. Pointedly, paradox is the “result of our ignorance about interconnections."~Richard Ostella

Living, Praying, Giving & Going Will Always Be Found Together

“If missions languish, it is because the whole life of godliness is feeble. The command to go everywhere and preach to everybody is not obeyed, until the will is lost by self-surrender in the will of God. There is little right giving because there is little right living, and because of the lack of sympathetic contact with God in holiness of heart, there is a lack of effectual contact with him at the Throne of Grace. Living, praying, giving and going will always be found together, and a low standard in one means a general debility in the whole spiritual being.”~Arthur T. Pierson

The Spiritual Person by A.W. TOZER

"Almost every Christian wants to be spiritual, but few know what the experience means. A lot of unfounded comfort could be swept away and much true consolation received if we could get straightened out.

It is difficult for us to shake off the notion that a person is as spiritual as he or she feels. Our basic spirituality seldom accords our feelings. There are many carnal persons whose religious emotions are sensitive to every impression and who manage to keep themselves on a fairly high plane of inward enjoyment but who have no marks of godliness upon them. They have a low boiling point and can get heated up over almost anything religious at a moment’s notice. Their tears are close to the surface and their voices carry a world of emotional content. Such have a reputation for being spiritual, and they themselves may easily believe they are. But they are not necessarily so.

Spiritual people are indifferent to their feelings—they live by faith in God with little care about their own emotions. They think God’s thoughts and see things as God sees them. They rejoice in Christ and have no confidence in themselves. They are more concerned with obedience than with happiness. This is less romantic, perhaps, but it will stand the test of fire."~A.W.Tozer

Those Who Believe In The Fairytale of Evolution Actually Think That…

Some people actually believe this is how the universe began: That at one point in time all the matter in the universe was condensed into one tiny particle. Of course you say, “Only a complete fool would suggest that even this planet we live on was at one time condensed into the size of a dot, never mind the whole universe”. And you’re probably thinking, “You’re winding me up with an April Fools joke, no one would be so foolish to believe such an absurdity as that.”

But there’s more, some even believe that in the beginning, there was nothing, no time, no space, no matter, and then nothing exploded, and became the organised universe. And you’re probably thinking “Don’t be silly, if nothing exploded, then nothing exploded, it’s as simple as that.”

What’s more: Your body is made up of tiny cells and in Charles Darwin’s day they wrongly thought these cells were made up of just 3 or 4 bits of plasma randomly lumped together, but we now know what is deemed as a “simple” cell is more complexly designed than a space shuttle, and these fundamentalist evolutionists believe that our highly complex cells (that you have to magnify the size of a city to see all the working thereof), they believe they created and designed themselves, they came together they say, as an accident of nature. You say, "That’s madness, if someone claimed even Stonehenge, which is just a group of large stones in a circle, was a result of random chance, then I would have to conclude they were barking, never mind something as complex as the cell."

That’s not all. Those who follow the evolutionist religion, actually think D.N.A. which is a highly complex language containing the designs and workings of your body, came about by an accident of nature. You say, “That’s logically debunked. Sure if you see on a beach, ripples in the sand you conclude the tide has made them, but if you see written in the sand “John loves Katy” with a big heart around it, you instantly know someone has wrote it, only an idiot would suggest that it came about by chance, so to suggest that D.N.A. the most complex language we have observed in the universe came about by chance is ridiculous. Where there is a language you need an intelligence to write it, and an intelligence to read it.”

But there’s more still. These evolutionist extremists actually believe what they believe by a giant leap of blind faith. There is still not one jot of evidence for evolution, in fact there are several unclaimed high cash rewards for the first person to give scientific evidence. But you say “So why do so many people believe in it?”

Well the answer is, most have been taught evolution as if it’s a fact, and have not really thought it through and examined how wacky the claims are. Not only that, but false claims are often deceitfully presented as evidence. For example Lucy the Australopithecine is presented as a half-man/half-ape with human hands and feet, yet we now know that Lucy was nothing more than a 3 foot chimpanzee with ape hands and feet. From finding one tooth, evolutionists produced Nebraska man, and they drew many drawings in text books, and put wax figures in museums, of what they deemed a half ape/half human transitional form. You may ask “How do they know all that from just one tooth?” The answer is they don't, they just make it up, and eventually the rest of the skeleton was found and it turned out to be an extinct pig.
Neanderthal is often presented as an ape type human, but we now know, he was nothing more than a fully human old man with rickets. The Miller-Urey experiment claimed to have created life from non-life, in actual fact it created nothing more than tar, poisonous to life. Other misleading false claims are presented like the black and white moths, yet think about it, they’re still 100% moths, they have not turned into a bird or a bee. We have black and white people, but that does not make them any less human. Incidentally Charles Darwin thought so, he called black people “savages”. Adolf Hitler murdering six million Jews, Joseph Stalin murdering thousands of Polish P.O.W.s were all consistent with the evolutionary fairy tale they believed in. Today there is not one Tasmanian aborigine left, as these fellow human beings were all murdered by evolutionists who claimed they were half-ape, because of a different skin colour. Such are the dangers of this extremists belief in evolution.

But if evolution is a Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups Then What Is Truth?

“What is truth?” is the same question Pontius Pilate asked Jesus of Nazareth 2000 years ago. Pilate tried to wash his hands of Jesus Christ, and be indifferent about Him but is now in Hell. Jesus said “He who is not with me is against me.” Mt 12:30. There is no neutral ground when it comes to Jesus Christ.

If we were not made by an accident of nature, then there is no other alternative than we were created.

Often you hear people today claim the Bible is just a Book written by men and can’t be proven. But that’s simply not true. The Bible has the inbuilt proof of prophecy. It predicts the future far in advance and has always been 100% accurate in doing so. One example is, Psalm 22, it is a long and detailed prophecy of the Messiah on the cross. In verse 16, it says “they pierced my hands and my feet” obviously a reference to the nails on the cross, yet the significance of this is that this prophecy was written 1000 years Before Christ and any form of crucifixion was not even invented for another 400 years until 600 B.C. and then it was only hands, the feet came much later. And the Bible is full of detailed and accurate prophecies like this.

Your Creator has given each person a conscience to know right from wrong.

Most people today think, “Yes I know I have sinned but if God is love [which He is], then can’t He just forgive and let everyone into Heaven?” But think about that! If a judge went light on a child killer or a rapist, claiming he was “merciful”, then no-one would think that judge was kind, and loving, but there would be a national outcry that that judge is evil and corrupt. Nor does doing good deeds pay off our sins. That’s like getting a speeding fine and asking the judge to be merciful and let you off because you drive safely most of the time. The judge would say “so you should drive safely, but I have to punish you for the crime you have committed”. The Bible speaks of our sin as a debt, as in a monitory debt, and that every time you sin you are treasuring up wrath to be revealed against you on the Day of Judgement. (Rom 2:5). Because God is infinitely love and infinitely just, He will punish all sin wherever it’s found. No sin in the universe will be left unpaid for. Jesus said in Revelation 21:8: “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

God’s justice is a Holy Justice and there is no other justice like His. One lie is enough to damn you to Hell for all eternity. But God’s love is a Holy Love and there is no other love like His.
There is one way, and only one way to be saved from the wrath to come, and be forgiven of all your sin.
Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (Jn 14:6), He didn’t say one of many ways, but He is the way, the only way to Heaven. That means you can’t get to Heaven by the Pope, or Mohammed, or by doing ‘good deeds’. The only way to Heaven is by Jesus Christ.

2000 years ago the all powerful God who created this universe entered into His own Creation. He was born of a virgin, and then led a sinless life, Jesus did miracles to prove His claims, He healed incurable diseases, made the blind see, the deaf hear, He walked on water, and calmed the wind and the waves by the command of His voice. Then He willingly sacrificed His life, by suffering and dieing on a cross, to pay the penalty in full for your sin. Then on the third Day, He rose from the dead, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most attested fact of antiquity. Christ’s resurrection changed history, but will it change you? Death and the grave could not hold Jesus Christ, and if you will come to Him and have the free gift of eternal life, then death and the grave will have no hold on you. Whoever you are, whatever you have done, "now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation", Jesus offers complete pardon, total forgiveness of sins, to all who will come to Him. “Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts” (Isa 55:6-7). What are you waiting for? Tomorrow may be too late. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom 10:13). Cry out to Jesus and He will save you. Jesus offers you eternal life as a free gift. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” Rom 8:1
