MUST READ: Good Music by Bob Jennings

Six Page PDF by Bob Jennings. Can rap or rock music be Christian?

"James 3:15 "this wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish." Does the music tempt me to move my body in sensual way or does it remind me I am not a debtor to the flesh, to live after the flesh (Rom 8:12)?"

"They are not worship leaders but performers, pretending some sensual ecstasy with their eyes closed, breathing out their breathy lyrics with the mic at their mouth. Are they servants or stars? Are they gathering followers for Christ or fans for themselves? As someone observed, they are not saying, “Behold the Lamb”, but they are saying, “Behold me saying, ‘Behold the Lamb.’"

Freed from Pornography by Being Satisfied in Christ By James Jennings

DOWNLOAD MP3: http://illbehonest.com/Freed-from-Pornography-by-Being-Satisfied-in-Christ-James-Jennings
Why is it that so many people are running to pornography and masturbation? It's because they're not satisfied in Christ. This is what leads a person to prostitute themselves to an idol. Are you falling into sexual sin? or any sin for that matter, and want freedom? Do not pursue freedom but pursue Christ and you will find yourself satisfied in the Lord to were you will have freedom, from whatever it is. If you have no love for Christ then you will be accursed. (1 Cor 16:22) The true test of whether you're a Christian or not is if you are indeed satisfied in Christ. John 17:3 says - And this is eternal life, that they KNOW you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. -- Do you know the Lord and have intimacy with Him? Then you will indeed be satisfied in Him. Glory to God!

"Here is probably the greatest evidence that you're outside of Christ, that you have no power to overcome sin. Can you overcome sin? Or are you still living in the muck and mire of Internet pornography?" ~Don Currin.

The Battle in Your Mind to Abstain from Sexual Sin - Tim Conway

"The faith that justifies, the faith that saves from the wrath of God must be a faith that breaks the dominion of sin in your life. The faith that saves us from the wrath of God must be a faith that saves us from sexual immorality. If that faith doesn't save from the power of sexual temptation and lust then it WILL NOT SAVE YOU FROM THE WRATH OF GOD..." ~Tim Conway

I Do Not Allow A Woman To Teach... (1 Tim 2:12) -John MacArthur (22 min)

Fruitless Preachers Are Not Called -Charles Spurgeon

"It seems to me that as a man to be set apart to the ministry, his commission is without seals until souls are won by his instrumentality to the knowledge of Jesus. As a worker, he is to work on whether he succeeds or no, but as a minister he cannot be sure of his vocation till results are apparent... There must be some measure of conversion-work [not multiplying decissions but true conversion] in your irregular labours before you can believe that preaching is to be your life-work. Remember the Lord's words by the prophet Jeremiah; they are very much to the point, and should alarm all fruitless preachers. "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran; I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." (Jer 23:21,22). It is a marvel to me how men continue at ease in preaching year after year without conversions.Have they no bowels of compassion for others? no sense of responsibility upon themselves? Dare they, by a vain misrepresentation of divine sovereignty, cast the blame on their Master? Or is it their belief that Paul plants and Apollos waters, and that God gives no increase? Vain are their talents, their philosophy, their rhetoric, and even their orthodoxy, without the signs following. How are they sent of God who bring no men to God? Prophets whose words are powerless, sowers whose seed all withers, fishers who take no fish, soldiers who give no wounds — are these God's men? Surely it were better to be a mud-raker, or a chimney-sweep, than to stand in the ministry as an utterly barren tree. The meanest occupation confers some benefit upon mankind, but the wretched man who occupies a pulpit and never glorifies his God by conversions is a blank, a blot, an eyesore, a mischief. He is not worth the salt he eats, much less his bread;and if he writes to newspapers to complain of the smallness of his salary, his conscience, if he has any, might well reply, "And what you have is undeserved." Times of drought there may be; ay, and years of leanness may consume the former years of usefulness, but still there will be fruit in the main, and fruit to the glory of God; and meanwhile the transient barrenness will fill the soul with unutterable anguish. Brethren, if the Lord gives you no zeal for souls, keep to the lapstone or the trowel, but avoid the pulpit as you value your heart's peace and your future salvation." -Charles Spurgeon

Our Acts Must Bear Recording For They Will Be -Charles Spurgeon

"We have the 'Acts of the Apostles'. The Holy Spirit has not preserved their sermons. They were very good ones better than we shall ever preach,... but the Holy Spirit only puts down the 'acts'. Our acts should be such as to bear recording, for recorded they will be. We must live as under the more immediate eye of God, and as in the blaze of the great all-revealing day". -Charles Spurgeon

Jesus Says Take Freely, So Will You? -Charles Spurgeon

"Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
Revelation 22:17

Jesus says, "take freely." He wants no payment or preparation. He seeks no recommendation from our virtuous emotions. If you have no good feelings, if you be but willing, you are invited; therefore come! You have no belief and no repentance,--come to him, and he will give them to you. Come just as you are, and take "Freely," without money and without price. He gives himself to needy ones. The drinking fountains at the corners of our streets are valuable institutions; and we can hardly imagine any one so foolish as to feel for his purse, when he stands before one of them, and to cry, "I cannot drink because I have not five pounds in my pocket." However poor the man is, there is the fountain, and just as he is he may drink of it. Thirsty passengers, as they go by, whether they are dressed in fustian or in broadcloth, do not look for any warrant for drinking; its being there is their warrant for taking its water freely. The liberality of some good friends has put the refreshing crystal there and we take it, and ask no questions. Perhaps the only persons who need go thirsty through the street where there is a drinking fountain, are the fine ladies and gentlemen who are in their carriages. They are very thirsty, but cannot think of being so vulgar as to get out to drink. It would demean them, they think, to drink at a common drinking fountain: so they ride by with parched lips. Oh, how many there are who are rich in their own good works and cannot therefore come to Christ! "I will not be saved," they say, "in the same way as the harlot or the swearer." What! go to heaven in the same way as a chimney sweep. Is there no pathway to glory but the path which led the thief there? I will not be saved that way. Such proud boasters must remain without the living water; but, "Whosoever will, let him TAKE THE WATER OF LIFE FREELY."
-Charles Spurgeon

Paul Washer On Ravenhill Book & Impact On His Life -(5 min video)

Ravenhill’s spiritual life, uniquely marked by experiential godliness, was from its beginning rooted in eighteenth century English Methodism. Had he lived two hundred years earlier, he could have been one of the men laboring in the gospel with John Wesley or George Whitefield. His grandmother, mother, and father were all converted to Christ through that spiritual heritage. Converted at age fifteen, Ravenhill later trained for Christian ministry under the saintly influence of Samuel Chadwick at Cliff College in England. Characterized by a deep life of prayer, passionate evangelistic zeal and a powerful preaching gift, his ministry drew traffic-jamming crowds in the British Isles during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Along with D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones and J. Edwin Orr, Ravenhill was one of the few specialists in the 20th century regarding the message of genuine revival and spiritual awakening.

MUST HEAR: Legalism & The Christian - Richard Ochs (20 min)

Legalism & The Christian-Richard Ochs(mp3) -20 min

"If you make the law your rule of life you will lose the joy of serving Christ

Definition of legalism: It is an attitude or motive that leads people to try to establish maintain or improve a righteous standard before God, by their own activities.

Self-righteous legalism dies, when the true demands of Gods law are made clear.

Legalism can only condemn.

No one in history will ever be more justified than you by the moment you became a Christian.

Whether we will realize it or not we will treat other people with the same measure of love, acceptance and forgiveness that we rightly or wrongly think we are receiving from God.

Because we are the most forgiven people in the world, we should be the most forgiving people in the world.

Five attitudes that can be evidence of legalistic thinking in a believer’s life:

· If we are more aware of our past sin than we are of the finished work of Christ for us as believers we are likely to be falling into a form of legalism.

· If we generally think that God is disappointed with us, rather than delighting over us as His blood bought children we are evidencing a legalistic way of thinking.

· If we somehow think that our justification is dependent on our sanctification we are falling in to a form of legalism.

· If we walk around under a cloud of condemnation that stops our joy and paralysis our service, it is often evidence of a legalistic view in our thinking.

· A lack of love, acceptance and forgiveness towards others can be the result of a legalistic view creeping into the Christian life." ~Richard Ochs
